Myth looked around in horror. One moment he had been sleeping next to his handler in a cave and now he was staring into the face of a giant dog-faced noodle. He yelped and jumped to his paws then his the ground hard as he tripped over his sleeping handler still wrapped in her sleeping back, the only thing that seemed normal in this entire situation.
"What in the world Myth!" Sakari sat up, shooting an annoyed and confused look at the merle. "Myth, there is nothing to panic about. This cave is perfectly safe and if you heard a noise it was probably you kicking a rock..." In her rant she had failed to notice the change of scenery and their extra companion that definitely did not seem real at first. "Where are we?"
"We'll you're in Fantasia." The dog-faced noodle spoke up making Myth shimmer back and hide behind his stunned handler. She was not normally easily stunned, but this was a whole new level of strange.
"Fantasia?" She asked. The name was not familiar, she knew of mo real place that was called Fantasia.
"Yes, Fantasia. I found you two asleep despite all the ruckus The Nothing was causing. How in the world someone could sleep through that is beyond me!" He let out a huge booming laugh, catching Sakari and Myth off guard. Sakari looked to her tokota who looked back at her, just as confused as she was.
"Alright, and you are?" Sakari asked. They had talked about where, but not about who. She had never seen such a strange dog like creature before.
"I am Falkor. I am what you call a luck dragon." He smiled at them. He seemed like a gentle giant.
"Oh! Our guests are awake! Though they missed out on all the excitement. You sleepy heads! Sleepy right through all the scientific research!" A small pointy eared man came running towards them, or more like hobbling.
"Indeed, Atreyu just made it past the Southern Oracle." Falkor spoke up.
"Southern Oracle?" Sakari asked. Myth's head was starting to real from all the information and he sat down, trying to grasp the situation. "Why does the name Atreyu sound familiar too." Sakari felt she knew the name but could not quite place why. "Oh my goodness! These is the movie we watched with Hidenka and Shokou before we left! The Neverending Story! But how in the world did we end up in a movie world?" She looked around. Myth got up and also started to sniff around as if searching the culprits behind such an elaborate prank. "Okay, Hidenka! Shokou! This is ridiculous! And where in hell did you get life-sized dolls of these characters." Sakari sighed and got out of her sleeping bag, rolling it up as Myth searched for the two friends of his owner.
"Who are Hidenka and Shokou? Are they friends that were with you?" Falkor asked. "I saw no one else when I found you." Sakari was not fully listening as she tried to figure out how in the world her two friends could have moved her from the cave she was in to wherever she was now. They were definitely not in the same spot and there were definitely no walls around them. If there were then this was definitely one large room. This was too elaborate for a prank.
"Oh no... Did you say The Nothing was making a ruckus earlier?" Sakari had to ask. She knew was that meant.
"Yes, and you somehow managed to sleep right through it." Falkor seemed to laugh, though it was also filled with nervousness and sadness. She already knew the damage that The Nothing had caused and all because of the loss of imagination. The irony of this was not only were they now trapped in a movie, they were trapped in a book which was trapped in a movie.
"Myth, we have to go, now." She shot up and rolled up her sleeping bag. Luckily Falkor had also found the saddle she had been leaning against when she fell asleep, so she had not lost her supplies in the chaos of being teleported into a movie. She saddled Myth up who was fidgeting nervously. "Alright boy, I am going to need you to run. The only place that will be left standing will be the palace and we need to get there before everything falls apart. Let's hope that even we will come back after all this, but for now let's head that way and help however we can." Myth nodded and waited as Sakari hopped up into the saddle and they were off.

Using the movie they back-tracked towards the palace that the Child-like Empress was living in. It was not a long journey and Myth was whining the entire way through the swamp.
"I now know the swamp in the movie is much worse in reality." Sakari mumbled as she tried to urge Myth through. That was the hardest part of the trip. The swamp leached on their sadness and the negative thoughts of the two. If they were ever going to make it out. If Sakari's plan was going to work. And if The Nothing was going to sweep them away like it had so many. If it did though, would they return like all the other? They were not Fantasia creatures, so they feared they would not return.
They were happy to leave the swamp behind, and they continued on their way. As they ran across all kinds of landscapes, stopping only for short breaks and water when they found some, they could see The Nothing. The dark clouds loomed in the distance, tearing apart all that laid before it. Behind them was destruction, but at they reached the top of a slope they could see the beauty before them. The palace shimmered, surrounded by the beauty of nature and shining like a beacon. They were not the only ones to arrive. They watched the crowds of creatures of all kinds moving like a swarm towards the beautiful scene.
Myth howled in excitement, happy to see the beacon, a beacon of hope.
"Alright boy, let's go. I hope this works." Sakari knew that somewhere behind them that Atreyu was on his way, but with Falkor by his side and her needing to take care of Myth she had no way to help him unless she left Myth to fend for himself. She could not do that. Survival until it ended was her best bet. Myth trotted down the slope to join the sea of creatures all heading towards the beacons like flies to a light.
Based off my favorite childhood movie The Neverending Story! Still one of my favorites today.
And yes, I had to include Falkor. I could not help myself, it would not have been a proper adventure without Falkor saving their butts.
The handler featured if my handler Sakari.
